W5 Projects.......Gimp Projects: How to change a background

Go to  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv23t7iaRE0 for instructions on how to change a background in GIMP.  The tutorial video is 3:30 in length.

Take a photo of yourself using Photo booth. Open the image in Gimp and follow the instructions from the video. Incorporate the photo of yourself into another photo that you made last week.

Week 4 : Gimp: Billboard, Color, B& W

This week we will work on three new concepts using Gimp.

Tuesday - Billboard

Wed - Crayon or Pencil:  add color to a b&w image

Thurs - Image: remove color from a color photo.

Friday - Combination: Use the various techniques used this week and create an image of your own..

Week 3 Photo Manipulation: Palm Tree, Color ME,

This week beginning on Tuesday Feb 9 through Fri Feb 13th we will be exploring a piece of software called GIMP. GIMP is the poor mans version of Photoshop. The only reason I call it the poor mans version is that it is FREE from the Internet. The software can be used on MAC, PC alike.

Project 1:  Palm Tree
In this project the student will  be modiying the photo below by changing the colors, adding waves and a sun.

 

Project 2: Color Me

You will be taking a photo of yourself and using a feature called THRESHOLD, which basically takes all the color out leaving only Black and White. You will then add color back into the photo.
