Audio Replacement & Sound Effects Project

Using sound effects, and music - REPLACE the music and sound from the Star Wars Throne Room Scene.  Here is the scene that you will begin with. For the most part the sound of Chewy and R2D2 are not the final cut used in the 1977 classic, nor is there any background music.   For the project you are to replace the sound for Chewy, R2D2,  and add background music. You may make other changes as well but those are the minimum.

The video the student will make will start out with the following:

NOW THE FUN STUFF

Download a video clip to use for the following: May I suggest a clip with cars or people in a crowded street or animals.   Place the video clip onto  iMovie. As part of this assignment the student will learn how to cut a video and then do the following to the cut.......

Video clip, chopped and or repeated: ( Select a portion of your video, high light it  and leaving the red vertical line at place to make cut. Then go to clip pull down menu and select " split clip". Do this to a portion of a video.  Depending on where you make your cut, you may have a beginning cut and an ending cut.

Then do the following to the clip

1. Fast Forward video: (Select clip adjustment and speed up clip)

2. Slow Motion video:( Select clip adjustment and slow down clip)

3.   Do a special video effect to a portion of the video. It can be to the same clip used in 1 or 2 above or can be its own cut.

Now that the video clip is split, click on the GEAR and select  clip adjustment. While the INSPECTOR dialogue box is open select video effect and choose a video effect. Use at least 5 different video Effects to the clip.

Good Luck!

Beginning Monday October 13 - Quotes Video

In this video you are going to continue with the goal of timing  images to a beat of the background music. I would like for you to incorporate images of quotes and images that visually bring the quote meaning to life. Find quotes and images that make one stop and ponder their meanings. What makes this project successful is the use of bizarre images and deep deep thought provoking quotes from the many brilliant people that have existed in the world throughout time.

In this project you should be shooting for about the same time limit as the recent music video project....No less than two (2) minutes.....Include titles at the beginning and at the end of the project Your name must appear on one of the titles. Add some timely transitions to add visually to the project.   Give credit to the song creator.

You can theme your quotes, I.E.  project on love, relationships, strength etc. or you can go random. with wide range of quotes and images. The key is to make people think!

Here is a sample from a student from a few years ago..... Entitled "Life"

I like this video for the following reasons.  First,  the music was new and fresh at the time. The images are appealing because they are unusual. Where can one find a bunch of nuns smoking cigarettes? And..... many of the other images had the same unusual quality about them.  The quotes used make one think about their own life. There are unlimited possibilities for this project.
